Here’s the final 2 shots from my latest paper-craft project with @nick.dunne, for @telegraphstella Gift Guide magazine this year. This was such a lovely project to work on. Fun Fact: I wanted to do the ballerinas justice, so I studied video-recordings of the Nutcracker and drew poses from that performance.😊 Swipe for some BTS photos! .
This paper christmas photo series was inspired by the theatre, and subtly references classical plays such as The Nutcracker & Swan Lake, from which I took inspiration for both the indoor & outdoor scenes, which were all completely made by hand!🙌🏼✂️ I had the pleasure of working together again with the fantastic photographer @nick.dunne, who lit up each scene with his magical lighting, making every miniature theatre ‘stage’ come to life.❤️ In total we shot 9 different scenes, both for the cover & interior pages of the magazine.😊

I’m super excited to share with you the Front & Interior Cover for @telegraphstella Gift Guide magazine this year! 🎄❤️ I love the little Elton John doll. The addition of the paper audience members were added as a last minute finishing touch, so I was cutting them by hand whilst @nick.dunne set up the spotlight and was busy changing lenses. I love it when a project comes together like this, and when a client trusts you and gives you creative freedom to make last minute changes that really lift up the whole scene! Massive thank you to the 4 runners for getting in a great workout by sitting behind the big waves and rolling them to the beat of the music, making the set come alive! 🌊 I was busy lying on the floor hiding between waves, making the fishes jump up & down, whilst puppeteering a flying seagull & wafting the boat’s sail at the same time... oh movie magic! 💙

A huge thanks to the director for getting me involved in this crazy creative project. It was definitely a labour of love, and it’s been an amazing experience making these dream-like ideas become a reality!
