I was commissioned by jewellery brand Ernest Jones to create a summer window display for one of their flagship stores, using their branding colours: lavender and pale blue.
I collaborated with fellow paper-artist Maria Cruz, and together we came up with a concept of “Summer by the pond”. We wanted the window display to look like a little hidden treasure through the trees, where in a clearing you see a pond; surrounded by flowers, waterlilies and dragon flies! As a recurring theme, each flower has a diamond centre, and even the dragonflies have a diamond-pattern cut into their wings.
The jewellery stands on a circular mirror that reflects the scene and sets the mood for the pond. The base consists of grooves in which we could slot the different layers of grass and flowers. The idea behind this was so that we could potentially swap some of the paper elements out for new ones in Autumn and Winter – replacing them with flowers from that season.
